Tackling Mechanical Wear
The compressor family (rotary, reciprocating, axial-flow, centrifugal, screw compressors, etc.) operates under permanent attack.
Their components are in contact with one another, which makes them subject to mechanical wear. They breathe in large volumes of air and swallow all kinds of dirt particles and water droplets that make them vulnerable to oxidation and oil acidity.
In such hostile an environment, a compressor oil testing program is indicated to prevent corrosion of the equipment.
